Mr. Day knew, even from the fourth grade, knew that he was destined to live and work around music.  Already taking piano lessons, he arranged the Star Wars Theme for his recorder class, sheet music and all.  Mr. Day was fully immersed in the band experience in high school participating fully in solo and ensemble competition as well as being part of the top wind ensemble all four years.  During his high school years, he was blessed with the privilege of also belonging to the Warren Junior Military Band that competed in Corps Style competition during the summers.  The culmination of this experience was in a European tour that ended with the World Music Competition in Kerkrade Holland.

In his first year at The Ohio State University, Mr. Day earned the distinction as the best overall freshman percussionist.  It was during the following summer that he joined the Marion Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps finishing in the top 12 in their class.  Enthusiastic about the experience, Mr. Day chose to become a Marine musician. Mr. Day then finished his Bachelor’s at Ohio State University and began his own music company where he fulfilled roles comprised of composer, arranger, adjunct faculty, clinician, seminars, band camps as well as his private studio.

Over his career Mr. Day has been blessed to participate with or under the direction of notable musicians such as Keith Brion, Karel Husa, John Boyd, Robert Shaw, Fred Fennell, Christian Lindberg, Bob Becker, Roger Williams, Craig Kirchoff, Richard Blatti, and John Paynter.
